ABOUT THE RAINMAKER
THOMAS MÜLLER
40 years in IT, software development, product and business development, consulting, marketing and sales at companies such as IBM, Vodafone, Thomas Cook and TUI shaped Thomas and made him the successful entrepreneur, thought leader and visionary he is today.
But it was Africa that changed his life and ignited his passion for the hotel industry. For TUI and Thomas Cook, for example, he worked in all Aldiana Clubs and Robinson Clubs. He has lived and worked in eight different countries in Europe and Africa and has been involved in six hotel openings.
He started with individual lodges for which he designed websites in Namibia to improve marketing and sales. Word of their success spread quickly and demand grew.
Together with his colleague Bruce Hutchison, he founded the first Namibian hotel management company, took over two loss-making hotels and made them successful again in three years. With great vision and attention to detail, the two developed a hotel that won a design award a year after its successful opening and is now the leading hotel in Namibia. The Strandhotel Swakopmund. A remarkable hotel concept was born.
This is how the "5 Stages of Success" came into being, which has now also been supporting hoteliers on the German-speaking market since 2021. Thomas Müller is a passionate hotelier, entrepreneur and doer. With vision and expertise, he drives the democratization of technology for emerging and independent hotel and tourism businesses.
